Two German design houses, known for their technical rigor and sculptural restraint, meet at a shared point of clarity. In their first collaboration, RIMOWA and MYKITA unveil an eyewear collection that rethinks utility through form — merging lightweight materials, engineered fit, and quiet refinement. Crafted in Berlin, informed by Cologne, and rooted in movement.
For the launch, RIMOWA and MYKITA look to the iconography of the passport photo. German actor Udo Kier and Luxembourgish-German actress Vicky Krieps appear in playful portraits, each with three iterations of themselves — past, present, and imagined. The campaign suggests that identity, like design, evolves.
The collection introduces two design lines. HERITAGE, a trio of classic shapes — panto, square, aviator — frames MYKITA’s stainless steel with anodized aluminium elements echoing RIMOWA’s iconic finishes. In VISOR, the concept becomes more directional: a contoured shield with a toric lens and MYLON® detailing offers full-spectrum coverage for modern transit. Both series balance comfort with technical precision, designed to move with the wearer — and through time.
