Technogym opens its archive and vision in an exhibition that explores the intersection of fitness, form, and future. Titled The Art of Wellness, the installation traces a cultural and aesthetic journey—from ancient gymnastic tools to AI-powered training systems—revealing how movement has evolved not only as a practice but as a language of design.
The retrospective begins with objects like the vaulting horse and the exercise bike, charting their transformation through centuries of biomechanics and material innovation. At the centre is a pivotal moment: the founding of Technogym in 1983, when Nerio Alessandri, then 22, created the first Hack Squat machine in his garage.

Accompanying the exhibition is The Art of Wellness, a book published by Assouline that frames the Technogym story in photographs and reflections. More than a catalogue, it positions fitness as an aesthetic and emotional experience shaped by Italian culture, innovation, and architecture.
