Under the light of the crescent moon, Jaeger-LeCoultre presents its latest collaboration in the Made of Makers program, blending horology with design. Created by Emirati designer Khalid Shafar, the installation Crescent to Crescent connects the Jaeger-LeCoultre expertise in timekeeping with the lunar cycle that has long influenced its creations. Spanning six meters in width, the artwork represents the passage of time through the phases of the moon. It consists of 29 carefully designed moons, each symbolizing a day in the lunar cycle, reflecting the gentle shifts of light and shadow that define this significant period.
"The moon. This celestial body is a powerful force, influencing tides, guiding natural cycles, and inclining countless aspects of life on earth. For centuries, the sight of the new crescent moon has heralded the beginning of Ramadan," says Khalid Shafar.

Bringing together modern design with traditional craftsmanship, the installation highlights Jaeger-LeCoultre’s dedication to precision and artistry. Fine engravings reference the maison’s signature guilloché technique, while the use of color and light creates a dynamic visual experience. First revealed at the Dubai Mall Grand Atrium, this radiant artwork will later travel to selected locations across the city, offering visitors a chance to reflect on the deep connection between celestial movements and human life.
