Amouage invites us into a more introspective space—two final compositions, Decision and Existence, that complete its Odyssey Collection not with a grand finale, but with a pause. Crafted by Quentin Bisch and guided by Creative Director Renaud Salmon, the scents are shaped by a journey into Oman’s Jebel Shams.
Decision strikes first with sharp, mineral clarity—bergamot, juniper, and frankincense meet with the energy of a storm about to break. Its movement is swift but grounded, leading into cedarwood, cistus, and a dry-down that suggests commitment, or at least resolve.
Existence, in contrast, floats. A fragrance without edge, it opens with osmanthus and saffron, expands into rose and lily of the valley, and rests in a bed of benzoin and sandalwood. It feels like air between thoughts, like the desert at dusk. Neither passive nor declarative, it simply holds space.
